GET READY TO LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD AND RAISE THE BAR
THIS OCTOBER IN THE Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME!
El Segundo, Calif. (October 1, 2019) – It’s time to Duel, and it’s time to step up in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) this Fall! Whether you’ve been waiting for your moment as a Duelist or for your favorite strategy to make it big, now is your time! Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is excited to present two new releases, each promising big change for the autumn season. The first is an incredible Collector Set designed to rocket you into tournaments, and the second is the final quarterly booster release of the year. October’s going to be an incredible time for new Duelists to start competing, and a fantastic chance for veterans to take their Dueling to the next level.
First up, you’ve never seen anything like Duel Devastator! An incredible arsenal of 56 Ultra Rare cards handpicked to help you climb the tournament ladder, every box is jam-packed with flexible cards you can play in all sorts of different strategies, so if you’ve been missing something for your Deck you’ll probably find it here. It all starts with 5 of the most popular tournament-level cards, headlining the release with all-new variant artwork: Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring, Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, Ghost Reaper & Winter Cherries, Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion and Ghost Sister & Spooky Dogwood, all appearing in Ultra Rare printings. These are some of the most important cards for competitive Dueling, and now you can find them all in one place. You’ll also discover a mysterious new sixth monster created in a similar style, with 2 Special Summoning abilities.
From there, an entire year of top tournament-winning Decks were examined to then assemble 30 of the most popular Side Deck cards and 20 Extra Deck monsters into the ultimate build pack. Protect your field with Inspector Boarder, Spell Canceller and Solemn Strike, or call your opponent out with cards like Super Polymerization and Typhoon. Saryuja Skull Dread and Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier will be yours to command from your Extra Deck, as well as a stellar supporting cast of monsters like Abyss Dweller and Tornado Dragon.
All 56 Ultra Rare cards appear in every Duel Devastator set, but you’ll also score 4 of 12 new Field Center Cards! The first 6 showcase the new monster artwork for Ash Blossom and friends, while 6 more feature heroes and rivals from the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series: Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Pegasus, Mai and Ishizu. You won’t know which Field Centers you’ll find in your Duel Devastator Collector Set, but whichever ones you don’t use in your Duels become handy card dividers for the Duel Devastator box itself. The durable box comes with a partition that divides it for two-row storage, helping you keep your collection organized and safe.
Duel Devastator launches October 11. Each box includes 56 Ultra Rare cards (5 Ultra Rare variants, 1 new Ultra Rare, 20 Extra Deck monsters and 30 cards for your Side Deck), 4 of 12 Field Centers and 1 heavy-duty storage box. MSRP: $39.99 per set.
Get ready for new strategies and dizzying surprises in the Chaos Impact booster set! Continuing from Rising Rampage you’ll find new cards for the Marincess and Tenyi themes: the Marincess grow their command over the ocean tides with new Effect Monsters, new Link Monsters and a tsunami of new support cards, while the Tenyi unleash another “Tenyi Spirit” and a massive Synchro Monster! You’ll also witness the debut of a Fiendish new force obsessed with destruction; a strategy that sacrifices your own monsters to Summon more powerful threats, devouring and absorbing your opponent’s cards along the way.
Fans of the classics will find plenty of power in Chaos Impact too, starting with one of the greatest old-school strategies of all time: Gladiator Beasts! Savage new stars make ready for the arena, including a brand-new Fusion Monster that can negate effects and a Link Monster that takes its cues from the mighty Test Tiger! Armed with a new Continuous Spell that deploys a Gladiator Beast straight from your Deck, the fan-favorite theme has never looked better…and that’s just the beginning! You’ll find support for new classics like Dinowrestlers, Salamangreats, Aromage and the Evil Eye, plus a new Level 4 Dragon with a pair of search abilities so powerful they’ll change how Dragon Decks are built.
Finally, Chaos Impact ushers in a new epoch of Link Summoning with Firewall Dragon Darkfluid, the first-ever Link-5 Monster to appear in real-life Dueling! Starting with 3000 Attack Points and boasting an effect that can buff it by as much as 10,000 ATK, Darkfluid can cleave through your opponent’s monster effects and even make extra attacks. It’s not the only new Link Monster you’ll want to search for: a tricky new Link-2 Monster comes equipped with a pair of downward pointing Link Arrows to help you make your plays, and a Quick Effect that lets you Link Summon on your opponent’s turn! Anything you Summon with its ability can’t be destroyed by card effects, taking mind games and power plays into new territory.
Duelists can get a preview of Chaos Impact at Sneak Peeks scheduled for October 19 and/or October 20 at participating Official Tournament Stores. Duelists can find more information and a list of locations here: http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/events/sneakpeek.html.
Chaos Impact arrives October 25 with 100 cards total: 48 Commons, 20 Rares, 14 Super Rares, 10 Ultra Rares and 8 Secret Rare. MSRP: $3.99 Per 9-Card Pack.
