Headlining the Saturday musical lineup will be Hip-Hop artist MICK JENKINS as well as Atlanta-based Producer/Rapper LONDON ON DA TRACK — both will perform on the main stage Saturday, November 17. EDM sensations SLUSHII, KILL THE NOISE and RIOT will perform on the main stage Friday, November 16. Music details are available here.

DreamHack is also bringing horror genre films to the lifestyle festival, including the screening of the feature-length horror film, SLICE, as well as the Atlanta-based horror anthology, FEAR HAUS.

DreamHack made its Atlanta debut in 2017 bringing nearly 25,000 visitors from a total of 48 states and 25 countries. Following the Austin festival in June, DreamHack’s only other U.S. stop of the year will be Atlanta in November.

MUSIC
MICK JENKINS  has a new album, Piece of A Man — released in August 2018 on Cinematic Music Group — which goes further than he ever has before toward a unified theory of hip-hop: rigorous but sensitive, technical but deeply musical. Born in Huntsville, AL, Jenkins moved to Chicago with the women in his life –– his mother and sister–– when he was 10 years old. This set up two important factors that would shape his worldview, and ultimately, his music. On one hand, he became embedded in the fabric of the city — adopting some of its sensibilities and slang while benefiting from its growing array of opportunities for young creatives. On the other, his early childhood in a radically different environment gave him the outsider’s perspective that allows him, to this day, to turn a critical eye to his surroundings.

Jenkins’ first major breakthrough was the mixtape The Water[s], released in August of 2014, which introduced him as an artist who synthesized early-20th century poets with hip-hop’s most powerful voices. The Water[s] earned critical praise, including from rap’s most respected underground pioneers — Regan Farquhar (“Busdriver”) called Jenkin’s talent “gloriously uncommon.” Since then, Jenkins has used his new platform to grow, evolve and continue to challenge audiences. He broke new technical ground with the bright and adventurous Waves and delivered an immensely thoughtful debut album with 2016’s The Healing Component. In recent months, Jenkins dropped a pair of critically-acclaimed EPs: Or More, The Anxious and Or More and The Frustration.

“I think it’s natural for art to be misunderstood, especially art that is intended to serve a message,” Jenkins has said. In general, he finds that his audience gravitates to his central messages above all else: spread love, drink more water. “Those are themes that shine through, even if you can’t understand or break-down or some of the deeper aspects,” he says. “But show me some art that’s not misunderstood.”

LONDON ON DA TRACK, the Atlanta-based producer most known for working with artists like Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan and Gucci Mane, doubles as a rapper as well, began producing for local artists in 2011, eventually working with MCs like Waka Flocka Flame, Travis Porter and Rich Kidz, among others. But it was his association with Young Thug — who voices London’s signature producer tag — that kicked his career into the mainstream in the summer of 2014, when London suddenly became one of the most sought-after producers in hip-hop. That summer, London landed his first three tracks on the Hot 100, all of which were collaborations with Thug: Tyga’s “Hookah,” which peaked at No. 85; T.I.’s “About The Money,” which peaked at No. 42; and “Lifestyle” by Rich Gang, the short-lived trio of Thug, Quan and Birdman, which climbed to No. 16.That success led to further collaborations with Thug on the latter’s Barter 6 album, as well as production work for the likes of Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Drake, Jeezy, Gucci, Lil Durk and French Montana, among a slew of others. In August 2017, London signed a record deal with RCA as a solo artist, promising “to show the fans my versatility.” More recent credits include the Drake and 21 Savage collaboration “Sneakin,'” which reached No. 28 on the Hot 100; Kodak Black’s “Roll In Peace,” featuring XXXTentacion, which climbed to No. 31; and Post Malone’s “92 Explorer,” which hit No. 40 last month.

One check of SLUSHII’s ever-growing record of credentials and there’s no doubt that the 20-year-old, forward-thinker is the future of electronic dance music. To describe Slushii’s ascent as meteoric would be an understatement —in just two years since he emerged on the scene, he’s brought his vibrant, textured sonics to five continents and countless countries, with three headlining tours already under his belt. Slushii has electrified festival crowds everywhere from EDC Las Vegas to Germany’s Parookaville, Tomorrowland to Lollapalooza, all while holding down residencies at some of the world’s most renowned clubs, including Intrigue and Encore Beach Club. His rap sheet doesn’t end at his relentless touring itinerary either. Massive collaborations and remixes co-signed by the likes of Marshmello, Maroon 5, French Montana and more make Slushii a dominating force in the digital streaming landscape, as he continues to flex his ultra-versatile production capabilities with everything from poolside pop to punishing trap products. Touted as the next generation’s torch-carrier by the likes of Tiesto, Steve Aoki, and Skrillex, Slushii has closed out an unforgettable breakout chapter of his career in 2018. He started the year off white-hot with the release of There x2 featuring Marshmello that raked in impressive streaming numbers across all platforms and climbing. He followed that up with a seven-track dubstep EP, Find Your Wings, and a momentous return to Ultra Music Festival in Miami. Slushii has come an immeasurably long way since his 2016 chart-topping debut EP Brainfreeze, and now that the bright young beatsmith has truly found his stride, there’s no chance of him cooling down any time soon.

The music of Jake Stanczak, better known as American producer and DJ KILL THE NOISE, was born out of an era where Ridley Scott imagined utopian futures on the silver screen, and artists like NIN and Aphex Twin rocked MTV. After channeling the influences of his youth through over a decades’ worth of forward-driven electronic releases (Roots, Kill Kill Kill, Black Magic, Occult Classic), and charismatic live shows (Coachella, EDC Lollapalooza, Hardfest), the name “Kill the Noise” has become synonymous with some of the leading acts in dance music — getting creative in the studio with the likes of Dillon Francis, Deadmau5, AWOLNATION and Skrillex — and as 2018 unfolds, he’ll be unveiling even more material.

Straight outta Israel, and recently relocated to Los Angeles — the heart of the dance music scene — the duo RIOT is a mix of two entirely different worlds of music breaking the barriers of music genres in the EDM scene. Their new, innovative sound is produced by the duo of Tom Davidson and Daniel MAgid and has already earned the favor of an impressively long list of the world’s greatest electronic artists including Knife Party, Infected Mushroom, Bassnectar, Excision, Zeds Dead, Kill the Noise, Slander, Nghtmre, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis, Joyryde and Zomboy, among others. The style mixes the extremes of EDM and energizes the audience to feel the chemistry between the two without a second of rest throughout the entire performance — that’s what makes RIOT one of the most outstanding and interesting groups on the EDM scene. Despite their age, relative to the field, RIOT was able to advance far in a short amount of time, positioning six times at Beatport’s No. 1 in the dubstep, hip-hop and glitch charts with top-charting hits. In addition, they have performed together with world-ranking DJs such as curators of their very own festival, RIOT Festival.

FILM
With a midnight screening on the main stage Saturday night, the recently releases horror film, SLICE, will be featured at DreamHack. In a spooky small town — when a slew of pizza delivery boys are slain on the job — two daring survivors played by Zazie Beetz(“Atlanta” and “Deadpool 2”) and Chance the Rapper (in a wild film debut) set out to catch the culprits behind the cryptic crime spree. Slice is director Austin Vesely‘s first feature film after helming music videos for Chance’s “Sunday Candy” and “Angels.” It was theatrically released on September 10, 2018, by A24. FEAR HAUS is an Atlanta-based horror anthology which first caught the attention of horror fanatics across the globe upon its first released episode on YouTube. The channel quickly gained traction as creator Blair Bathory, Moonshine-Post Production Founder Drew Sawyer and producer Molly Coffee worked together to create and produce a platform for indie horror short films to fall under one name. From beginning to end, hostess Blair Bathory introduces every chilling episode with a menacing grin. Bathory. Sawyer and Cofffee will bring their production to DreamHack where attendees (18+) will be able to experience the shorts in a surround-sound tent throughout the festival.
