Meet the final eight:
Created by Isabel “Isaky” Martinez: Isaky is from Alicante, Spain and majored in engineering but pursued in illustration as a full-time career. Isaky is a self-taught artist who has recently published a separate comic called DELETE but is only available in Spanish.
Description: In a small town in northern Spain, a group of teenagers begin to investigate and search for evidence of paranormal phenomena. Although the “evidence” they seek may find them first.
Created by Moth: I’m Moth and I love sci-fi, horror and rainy days. I’ve been into webcomics for four years, working on different versions of Raining Knives, planning other strange, dark stories and drawing a lot of rather nasty characters. Most of all, I hope to give my readers a good mystery and a lot of conflicting feelings >:)
Description: Dylan is haunted by ghosts he doesn’t believe in. One of them is his victim – his own brother. The other is a mystery. In fact, this place is full of mysteries. It seems like nothing stays dead in this town of bad weather.
Unlucky is as Lucky does
Created by M. Nires: M. Nires is a 23-year-old Canadian artist with a huge love for comedy (thanks to her very sarcastic parents). After randomly searching for comic contests online in 2015 and stumbling upon a rad site called LINE WEBTOONS, M. Nires decided that creating webcomics was her new dream. While putting herself through college, M. Nires made a bet little with herself: get featured on Webtoons before she graduated, or else get a job in graphic design. As you can imagine, she is quite happy to have won that bet, and thankful to all the editors that saw something in her work
Description: A spunky (and very strong) princess is suddenly in danger! For her protection, her father seeks out the luckiest(?) man in the kingdom. With her new lucky bodyguard, she should be out of harm’s way. However, luck doesn’t seem to be on their side.
Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell
Created by Unfins: Damien Cho aka “Unfins,” born the 3rd of November 1998, is a Swiss-Korean webtoon artist and the creator of Love Advice from the Great Duke of Hell on Webtoon. Unfins comes from unfinishedstories because he didn’t think he could finish his entry on time – well he did. He enjoys drawing and painting a lot, but also reading comics and mangas of course. Which is why he is drawing a webtoon, because he enjoys it.
Description: A story about love, friendship, coffee shop and demon summoning.
Cape of Spirits
Created by Kristina N.: Kristina N. is an illustrator living in California, who enjoys eating good food and being a hermit with her dog. Previously a concept and background artist, she is now pursuing her dream to become a comic artist.
Co-written by Elie: Elie is a Hawaii-born writer, currently working with games in Korea. She loves cats, magical girls, milk tea, and burgers, and often draws or plays games in her free time. As comics have always been a big part of her life, having the opportunity to make one with one of her favorite artists and closest friends has been an incredible experience.
Description: With a tremendous bounty on his head, a fugitive is captured by a pair of vengeful familiar faces. An unlikely partnership is born through their connection with an ancient coin…but can they learn to put aside their differences to fight a common enemy?
House of Stars
Writer: Paloma is a writer and editor from Madrid, Spain.
Illustrator: Eduardo is an illustrator from Spain, who also goes by the name Lion Illustration.
Description: In Lily’s town of Vergel, young girls have been disappearing. While on her way into the woods to gather herbs one day, Lily stumbles across Niven, a green knight under oath to an evil queen, who has tasked him with taking the girls. To save both those girls and Niven himself, Lily must venture into another realm, where stories have power and dark fairy tales are made real.
Created by Jewel Suan: My name’s Jewel Suan and I’m an illustrator/ comic artist living in California. A few things that mostly influence my work include animation, music, fashion, and manga; typically, shoujo and josei titles. Aside from art, I’m a huge historical fashion enthusiast and tea lover.
Description: Edith’s a lonely mess. She’s desperate to be in a relationship, but her high standards get in the way of her finding love. All she wants is a perfect prince that will rescue her from her mundane life. Yet, reality shatters fantasy when she meets a flirtatious pretty boy.
The Four of Them
Created by Mai Hirschfeld: Mai Hirschfeld is a 23-year-old artist from Argentina. The Four of Them is her first published comic.
Description: Johnny’s sister is better than him at almost everything. He doesn’t really mind losing until she beats him at something he wasn’t ready to lose.
