When I first hit play on Den of Thieves I wasn’t sure what to expect. Was this going to be a typical crime drama? Would the good guys be good, and the bad guys bad? I can honestly say that I was not expecting the finale that this movie had in store for me. I am not going to say “if you were of fan of this movie or that one then you will love this”, mainly because I don’t want to reveal anything about the movies 3rd act. What I will say, this movie definitely caught me by surprise and gave a unique take on the entire cops and robbers genre. It isn’t everyday you root for the bad guys, but maybe that is the point. Maybe this films entire point was the labels of good and bad that society puts on things should be scrutinized a  little more carefully. Of course it could just be a fun crime drama with an excellent over the top final gun battle, you decide.

Den of Thievesis a gritty Los Angeles crime saga which follows the intersecting and often personally connected lives of an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff’s Department and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew as they plan a seemingly impossible heist on the Federal Reserve Bank of Downtown Los Angeles.Filled with gripping, explosive actionand an ending that left audiences stunned, Den of Thieves is an electrifying game of cat-and-mouse that critics call “a gritty, realistic, engrossing LA heist movie” (Michael Rougeau, Gamespot).
